We are looking for a Sample & Laboratory Support Technician to join our Laboratory Support team in York. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate receipt, processing, tracking, and shipment of samples within a GLP/GCP-regulated laboratory environment.
The position also provides operational laboratory support, including reagent preparation, consumable management, and equipment coordination. It offers a great opportunity for someone interested in developing experience across laboratory operations, compliance, and support systems within the pharmaceutical research industry.
Responsibilities
* Receive, reconcile, process, store, and ship laboratory samples in line with regulatory requirements
* Maintain accurate sample tracking and documentation within laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS)
* Coordinate and communicate with clients and courier services regarding sample shipments
* Prepare reagents and solutions required for laboratory work
* Support stock management of consumables, analytical standards, and control matrices
* Assist with stock takes, inventory monitoring, and expiry tracking
* Support laboratory organisation and operational efficiency
* Assist with preventative maintenance documentation and equipment coordination
* Support environmental monitoring systems and storage unit management
* Ensure all activities follow company SOPs and regulatory standards (GLP/GCP)
* Maintain accurate documentation and support audit readiness
* Provide general laboratory support across operational activities as required
Requirements
* Secondary school education required; A-levels in a relevant scientific subject preferred
* No prior laboratory experience required, though experience in a laboratory or regulated environment is advantageous
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to follow procedures and regulatory requirements accurately
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently when required
* Willingness to learn and develop within laboratory operations
* Eligible to work in the UK
