Programme Facilitator – Probation Service

The Programme Facilitator delivers a range of rehabilitation interventions aimed at changing the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of people on probation, across all offence types and risk levels, including sexual and domestic abuse offences, as determined by sentences of the Courts and on the recommendation of Probation Practitioners.
Key Objectives
* Reduce re‑offending
* Protect the public
* Prevent future victims
* Help people build constructive and meaningful lives in the community through evidence‑based Accredited Programmes and Structured Interventions
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver interventions across a large regional area, requiring travel
* Report to the Programme Manager and sit within the Interventions Team
* Operate within the stated risk and offence ranges without line management responsibilities
* Work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends

From 22 July 2025, HM Prison and Probation Service will consider sponsoring a Programme Facilitator only if the applicant held a Skilled Worker visa before that date. If you held such a visa, bring this to pre‑employment checks. If you have not, you must obtain an alternative route to work in the UK.
Remuneration
* Direct salary: £26,475 per annum
* Unsocial hours payments – 50 % premium for Saturday work, 30 % premium for evening work
* Annual pay progression through the Competency Based Framework (CBF)
* Pay band ranges increase annually in line with Civil Service pay guidance
Arrival
New entrants join at the minimum of the pay band.
