Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (Dep on exp.)
A unique and exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer with my Client who is small, independent, Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy. They require a Senior Structural Engineer who is seeking a role that offers a certain level of autonomy on projects, the ability to manage your own design schemes from inception to completion and a role which offers you a good scope of projects to take responsibility for.
As Senior Structural Engineer you will be actively encouraged to take on interesting projects from start to completion. My Client is in a strong position to offer the right person a generous pay package along with career development and advancement opportunities, hopefully leading to director level.
You can typically expect to be directly involved in small to medium sized projects up to £25M in value, and due to the size of their business will ideally have previously worked in a similar position in the UK.
Job Responsibilities
* Ability to manage your own projects, from conception to completion
* Produce calculations for all Structural materials steel, concrete, masonry and timber etc.
* Prepare drawings using AutoCAD
* Carry out site visits and attend meetings
* Selecting appropriate construction materials
* Providing technical advice to clients and colleagues
* Liaising with relevant professions as part of the design team
* Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
* Preparing condition reports of existing structures
Job Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, plus a solid period of experience of working as a Structural Engineer in the UK
* MIStructE or MICE or working towards
* Experience of design software such as Tekla TEDDS, Tekla Building Designer, Fastrak Portal or similar
* Experience designing steelwork and reinforced concrete
* Decisive with excellent critical thinking skills
* Good written and verbal communication abilities, including preparing reports
* Ability to work on your own to deliver a project, from start to completion
