Peterborough/Oxford/Carlisle - Hybrid working on offer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager Logistics to join our manufacturing client, which operates globally.
This role can be based out of various locations in the UK including Peterborough, Oxford, or Carlisle. Hybrid working is on offer with a requirement to travel to sites and suppliers on an ad-hoc basis.
This role will manage Indirect Procurement across multiple sites, driving supplier performance, cost optimization, and category strategy within a dynamic and international manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities as Procurement Manager Logistics include:
* Sourcing focus on area of Logistics, Transportation, and Warehousing, as well as other Indirect Procurement related to the plants such as MRO and site services
* Manage procurement and supplier management of road transportation and external warehouses (plus 3PL assessment vs. internal provisions)
* Showcase assertiveness in managing relationships independently with key internal stakeholders and suppliers
* Develop and implement cross-site category strategies aligned with cost, quality, sustainability, and TCO goals
* Drive supplier management activities, including performance reviews and analyze supplier structures and markets
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align strategies and support operational requirements
The ideal candidate profile:
* Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field would be preferred
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an assertive and proactive mindset
* Proven experience in Indirect Procurement ideally within the Logistics category
* Strong analytical and entrepreneurial thinking, with the ability to work independently
* Solid understanding of operational processes and Procurement best practices
* Proficiency in SAP and MS Office
