The Opportunity.
Our client, a country house hotel in Thurso, is looking for an experienced chef for 4-6 weeks with potential to be extended.
Key Responsibilities.
· Oversee daily kitchen activities and ensure smooth service
· Coordinate food preparation and cooking across stations
· Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
· Ensure all dishes are prepared to the required standards
· Monitor portion sizes, presentation, and taste
· Maintain consistency in recipes and plating
· Ensure team members follow kitchen procedures and standards
· Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
· Monitor proper storage and handling of ingredients
· Assist with ordering supplies and managing stock levels
· Reduce waste and control food costs
· Check deliveries for quality and accuracy
Requirements.
Essential.
· Minimum of Sous Chef level
· Follow Health and Safety procedures
