This position is for Electrical and Control Engineers within the Water Utilities Division, primarily based in southern England (Reading, London, Croydon, Brighton, Cambridge, Southampton) with a focus on electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineering in water and wastewater projects.
Responsibilities
* Undertake a wide range of EICA tasks, typically including electrical power distribution design, control system design, specifying local renewable and back-up generation systems, developing plant layouts, cabling and installation design, instrumentation selection, lightning protection assessments, writing system control strategies, and factory/site acceptance tests of equipment.
* Work in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships to enhance the company’s reputation and secure further work.
* Cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover.
* Provide specialist technical support to colleagues across the global business and contribute to diverse and technically challenging projects.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Two years or more of experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
Desirable
* Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
* Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
