Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, roles requiring PVG membership will require candidates to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (e.g., teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above, currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour).
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members, which will be deducted from the employee's first full month's salary.
Job purpose/about the role
To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional, corporate life of the school in relation to pupils, staff, and external bodies within the SNCT agreements.
Minimum qualifications
* Appropriate teaching qualification
* Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the relevant subject/sector or eligibility for registration
* PVG scheme membership - Working with Children
Skills and competencies
* Manage and organise classes through planning and preparation
* Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress
* Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with administration as required
* Contribute to good order and the wider needs of the school
* Develop the school curriculum
* Participate in planning and improvement processes
* Maintain and develop professional knowledge and support colleagues' development
* Work collaboratively with parents, professionals, agencies, and other schools
* Meet and maintain professional standards set by GTCS and participate in the Scheme of Professional Update
