Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Specialty Doctor role in Ophthalmology, with an interest in Oculoplastics.
We seek an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to assist with the daily operations of our busy Ophthalmology Department. This is a permanent position offering 10 PAs per week, with part-time options available. Support will be provided for candidates aiming to join the Specialist Register.
Our team includes Consultant Ophthalmologists, Specialist Nurses, Technicians, Orthoptists, and Optometrists dedicated to delivering excellent local and specialist services to improve patient health and wellbeing. The successful candidate will contribute to acute, outpatient, day-case, and inpatient care for Northamptonshire and surrounding regions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with Medical Retina clinics and Retinopathy of Prematurity Screening
* Managing Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration services
* Conducting independent laser procedures
* Participating in Eye Casualty Services
* Engaging in outpatient and peripheral clinics
* Liaising with other departments as requested
You will join a cohesive team of nearly seven Consultant Ophthalmologists and be involved in developing innovative clinical pathways, supporting education, audits, and learning within our Teaching Unit.
