Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations across the Sole Bay Fish Company based in Southwold, Suffolk. This encompasses The Little Fish & Chip Shop as well as The Sole Bay Fish Company Restaurant, Take Away & Fishmongers, reporting to the Director. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a similar set-up within the hospitality industry, and have good people & communication skills to lead the teams. We are a hands-on business and therefore the successful candidate will be required to step into other roles as and when required.

Duties / Responsibilities:

The core duties / responsibilities of the General Manager, will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

* Responsible for ensuring we are compliant and adhere to Government legislation with regards to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Environmental Health, Licensing, Fire Regulations, Staff Training & Compliance, Risk Management and Method Statements.
* Oversee the effectiveness of our employees, liaising with HR Advisor, to ensure that we train, support and mentor our team members. Supporting with HR duties such as recruitment, training, mentoring, appraisals and disciplinaries (when required).
* Communicating to the Director, management and team members with clear and relevant information using a variety of methods. Organising and conducting staff / management meetings.
* Managing Stock and Assets by creating and monitoring budgets/ forecasts, intelligent procurement, stock taking, training on sales and stock rotation, as well as managing wastage.
* Customer and supplier management, building relationships, dealing with complaints in a professional manner, whilst promoting the Sole Bay brand effectively.
* Taking the lead in applying company policies and procedures, maintaining the high standards which encompass the business, leading with tact and diplomacy while being a team member, delegating responsibilities and managing fairly and effectively.
* Marketing and promoting the Sole Bay brand by regularly updating the company's website and social media pages.
* Updating and maintaining the Till and Payment Systems.
* Planning and improvements in relation to the business performance, analysing and planning sales levels and profitability, organising marketing activities, preparing reports that include sales, wastage and staff costs. Creating and executing plans for department sales. Forecasting and reviewing strategies if required.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
