Head of Strategic Planning and Partnerships
Band 8c – Permanent Contract – Full‑time 37.5 hours per week (flexible working discussed).
Salary: £79,504 – £91,609 per annum (pro rata).
Job Overview
The Head of Strategic Planning and Partnerships is a key leadership post within the organisation, driving the delivery of the Trust’s strategic and operational plans to support high quality, sustainable mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategy development and delivery – develop, coordinate and drive delivery of the Trust’s strategic plans, including Strategy, Enabling Strategies and medium‑term plans.
* Planning – lead the development and delivery of an integrated annual planning process aligned to strategic and medium‑term plans, system and national priorities; represent GMMH in system planning forums.
* Partnerships – work with system partners including statutory, voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise partners, commissioners and key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, influence priorities and develop joint service delivery plans.
* Collaborate closely with Executive Directors, senior clinical and operational leaders, system partners and communities.
Benefits and Working Conditions
* Holiday entitlement: 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years.
* Pay enhancements for evening (8pm onwards) and Saturday work: 30%; for Sunday and bank holiday: 60%.

* Contract: Permanent.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with executive leadership or board of directors and developing strategic priorities.
* Experience leading a planning process across a complex organisation, including development, coordination and monitoring of business plans.
* Strong track record of internal and external partnership working that has delivered system change.
* Highly developed communication skills, able to meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders in verbal and written formats.
* Experience working with service commissioners, governors and service user groups.
* Understanding of current mental health services, configurations and challenges.
