The Role:
Our esteemed client is seeking a skilled and motivated semi productive Workshop Manager / Senior Technician to lead a specialist vehicle workshop based on the outskirts of Southampton. This exciting dual role opportunity offers the chance to take charge of a state of the art workshop environment, manage a close knit team of technicians, and remain hands on with vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and performance upgrades.
The business specialises in prestige, high-performance, and enthusiast vehicles across modern & classic platforms, making this a unique role for a technician manager with a passion for engineering excellence.
Responsibilities & Requirements of a Workshop Manager / Senior Technician:
Oversee day to day workshop operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and high service standards
Undertake diagnostic, repair, and service work across a range of performance and classic vehicles
Manage workshop loading, job allocation, and technician productivity using DMS and scheduling systems
Liaise with service advisors and customers to ensure clear communication of work requirements and progress
Mentor and support workshop technicians, including providing technical guidance and quality control
Manage parts ordering and stock control in collaboration with front-of-house staff
Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer or higher standards, maintaining compliance with internal and external quality guidelines
A valid UK driving licence is essential
Previous experience with performance marques, classic cars, or motorsport-related engineering is advantageous
Package:
Salary: £48,000 basic per annum, plus fantastic company benefits.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: Alternate Saturdays, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM.
