The City of York Council, York Learning team is looking for a Learning and Skills Tutor to teach English and/or Maths.
Our main work is to engage learners and deliver the English/Maths curriculum (Entry Level to Level 2/GCSE) to adults aged 19+. This is likely to be a combination of online teaching and face to face sessions in community venues. You must be available for at least one evening per week.
We also work with a diverse range of people including people aged 16 – 18, learners with additional needs, learners from the Gypsy/Traveller community and apprentices in the workplace.
You should have appropriate qualifications and experience and be able to demonstrate awareness of both the rewards and the specific challenges of working with adult learners.
Own transport is desirable.
Excellent IT skills are required and you should have a good understanding of online platforms including Zoom and Google Classroom.

Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
