Job Summary: Provide visible Health and Safety leadership and direction to Mace Dragados JV project in Euston and be part of the Health and Safety team to implement project decisions, assure best project practices by providing health and safety guidance. Key Responsibilities: • Act as H&S advisor in own area, to keep the team abreast of new developments, and apply professional standards to ensure best practice. • Maintain core areas of expertise and impart knowledge to aid the development, training and mentoring of others. • Provide H&S advice to MDJV managers and project managers to assist them in achieving project objectives. • Create, develop and maintain a range of internal/external relationships to maximise impact of expertise and knowledge to influence the quality of decision making, share learning and drive improvements among the Project’s supply chain. • Advise on and interpret project contractual and statutory requirements and obligations to protect the project’s integrity and ensure legal compliance. • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with customers, partners and suppliers to assist the achievement of project targets. Technical Competencies Understanding of H&S standards and the evaluation of compliance therein. Knowledge of H&S Risk Management Able to undertake incident reporting and investigation. Able to undertake performance monitoring and measurement. Proven knowledge of construction techniques and their implications for safety. Demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of construction Health and Safety. Knowledge of occupational health. Knowledge of behavioural safety techniques. Qualifications, Certifications and Experience: • Proven experience working in a similar role in Health & Safety • Past experience working on large construction projects • Good knowledge of construction techniques and their implications for safety • NEBOSH accreditation • Experience in the railway environment, however similar industry experience essential • Expert knowledge of all aspects of construction Health and Safety • Good knowledge of behavioural safety techniques • Good knowledge of occupational health • Experienced manager HS2 Values: • Leadership: Using innovation and challenge to lead by example. • Respect: Understanding others, recognising their value and behaving accordingly. • Safety: Caring for our workforce, or passengers and the public by creating an environment where no one gets hurt. • Integrity: Acting fairly, transparently, and consistently.
