UWE Graduate interns x 2 – Discovery and Resourcing Team, Library and Learning Services
Grade C | Fixed term 12 months
Applicants must be recent UWE, Bristol graduates who are graduating in their first degree in summer 2026 or who have graduated in their first degree in 2025 or 2024.
This is a fantastic opportunity for two recent UWE Bristol graduates to get real‑world, hands‑on experience of working in a busy, dynamic team within a large academic library. We are looking for two motivated recent graduates to join our Discovery and Resourcing Team in a developmental graduate intern role. The team manages content and systems that support access to online books and journal articles, and provides support to Doctoral students and research staff with open access publishing and research data preservation.
About You
* Strong communicator with attention to detail, who enjoys working with others and using creativity to achieve results.
* Desire to learn, flexible approach and positive attitude.
* Good understanding of customer service and excellent organisational skills.
* Good IT skills including Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and confidence in web‑based searches to locate accurate and relevant information.
* Graduating from UWE, Bristol in a first degree in summer 2026 or graduated in a first degree in 2025 or 2024.
No prior library work experience is required; this is a learning‑oriented role.
About These Roles
Content and Discovery Intern
Content and Discovery Services provides access to a large portfolio of information resources, primarily digital, supporting library management and reading list software. You will work with Library Assistants supporting acquisitions and collections.
* Support academic staff in using the Reading List software to create lists and produce training or promotional materials.
* Review reading lists, verify links, order missing items, and recommend digitisation of chapters where necessary.
* Place orders for information resources on the Library Management System (Alma).
* Run statistical reports to support collections management decision making.
Daily use of the Library Management System and Content Management System will be required for record maintenance and general library material management.
Open Research Services Intern
This post sits within the Open Research Services team. You will support promotion and development of open access research, data repositories, and compliance with funder and government policies.
* Check items added to the university’s open access repository for alignment with the Research Publications Policy and other applicable policies.
* Liaise with research staff and students to support use of the university’s research repository.
* Answer first and second line enquiries relating to open research, triaging queries in the Open Research Service mailbox.
Day‑to‑day work will involve using the University’s repositories on Worktribe and ePrints, developing knowledge of these systems and the open research landscape.

Where You Will Be Working
Located at the Frenchay Campus, you’ll spend most of your time on campus (at least 60 %) with the option to work from home for the remaining days as agreed with your manager and in line with business needs.
