Overview
We are looking for a key role to help make sure our people policies are fit for the future and supports the people driven culture we want to be known for. You will be the go‑to expert for Employee Relations, ensuring our policies and practices are future‑fit and aligned with our values. Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders, you will be the single point of contact for our employee council and union representatives, while partnering closely with our People & Culture Business Partners. You’ll manage complex ER cases end‑to‑end and help build a proactive, fair, and compliant ER framework that enables our people—and our business—to thrive.
What You Will Do
* Manage a diverse caseload of ER matters end‑to‑end, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, capability, appeals, and absence management.
* Act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing clear, commercially focused guidance aligned with UK employment law and company policies.
* Ensure consistent application of ER policies and procedures, balancing business needs with fair and ethical outcomes.
* Partner closely with Managers and People & Culture Business Partners to resolve ER issues effectively within their business areas.
* Review, update, and maintain ER policies and processes to ensure compliance with UK legislation and best practice and ensure our policies are fit for the future and supports the people driven culture we want to be known for.
* Develop tools, systems, and dashboards to enable data analysis and accurate reporting of ER caseloads and outcomes.
* Identify trends and themes from casework to drive proactive interventions and continuous improvement.
* Design and deliver ER training for leaders and People & Culture Partners (e.g., investigations, documentation, difficult conversations).
* Collaborate with People & Culture Partners to support employee engagement initiatives that strengthen culture and retention.
* Champion continuous improvement of ER practices and processes across the site and wider network.
What You Will Bring
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s (or equivalent) preferred.
* CIPD Level 7 (Chartered Status).
* 7–10+ years’ experience in a People & Culture/HR Business Partner role with a strong Employee Relations focus.
* Proven experience managing complex ER cases in unionised and/or works council environments.
* Expert knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice; able to translate legal requirements into pragmatic, business‑ready solutions.
* Demonstrated success influencing and coaching senior stakeholders in fast‑paced, scaling organisations.
* Strong data literacy—comfortable building reporting tools, interpreting trends, and informing decisions with insights.
* Manufacturing and engineering experience, ideally in GMP‑regulated environments, is a strong advantage.
* High integrity, sound judgment, and a calm, solutions‑oriented approach.
