About the role

Mechanical Heating Contractor Supervisor works within the Property Management Service and will be accountable for the day‑to‑day management of the gas service and maintenance, including compliance and measures to improve productivity. The Council has 33,000 homes, of which 12,500 homes are served by a domestic heating boiler.
How You’ll Be Involved
Lead the in‑house team responsible for maintaining and installing heating systems across Camden’s homes. Oversee compliance, engineer performance and service delivery ensuring that heating appliances are safe, efficient, and maintained to the highest standards. Contribute to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Support Camden’s ambition to provide a high‑performing, resident‑focused repairs service that delivers statutory obligations while promoting quality, safety and value for money.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise technical staff on heating system installation and maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for gas services.
* Monitor performance metrics and drive productivity improvements.
* Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance service delivery.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet service goals.
All About You
You’re an experienced leader with a solid background in heating services, ideally within residential or social housing. You combine technical know‑how with strong people‑management skills, ensuring teams deliver safe, high‑quality work. You understand compliance and safety standards, can diagnose and resolve complex issues, and communicate technical matters clearly to a range of audiences. You’re comfortable with budgets and job tracking systems, and you’re always looking for ways to improve services and embrace new technologies. Above all, you’re committed to safety, quality, and making a positive impact for residents. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require a Basic DBS.
