Power Electronics Engineer (KTP Associate) position in collaboration between the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Institute and NEMA Ltd in Rochdale.
Overview
Salary £30,000 to £40,000 per annum, pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Closing Date Friday 24 October 2025. Reference ENG246525. Location: NEMA Ltd, Rochdale. This is a fixed term, 36-month contract funded through a KTP award with potential for a permanent position at the end of the project.
Responsibilities
* Develop high-frequency wide-bandgap inverter drives for high-speed Aerospace Electrical machines
* Integration of the drive with NEMA high-speed motor and testing
* Creating a digital twin for a motor drive system
* Work closely with company employees and ensure all work embeds the new knowledge
Requirements
* A post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
* Good understanding of power electronics with hands-on experience
* Basic understanding of motor drive control
* Experience of using Matlab/Simulink, PLECS, C Language
* Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills
Contract and Funding
This is a fixed term, 36-month contract funded through a KTP award. It is anticipated that there will be a permanent position available at NEMA Ltd at the end of the project.
