Connect - Global Account Management
"The Connect team supports the firm's largest, most complex and high value global clients with an innovative and strategic delivery model through our Four Brand Pillars."
* This position is for a Senior Commercial Accounting Analyst (Junior Finance Business Partner) for Retainers, providing support to the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) within the commercial finance function.
* The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Senior Finance Manager and the Partnership in analysing and reviewing performance across key clients within the Connect Group. You will proactively deliver real-time support to Partners and the leadership team, aiming to become a trusted advisor. The role involves supporting business decision-making, driving improvements in KPIs and profitability, and contributing to the delivery of strategic initiatives alongside the SFM and the wider practice.
* This role provides the opportunity to proactively identify and implement process improvements, driving efficiency and delivering benefits such as optimised operations, cost savings, and increased productivity across the team.
* You will collaborate closely with other members of the Connect Group. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines are essential.
Key responsibilities:
As part of the Commercial Finance team of around 20 employees you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* The month end process, ensuring accounting entries are correct, creating journals as required and producing monthly reporting packs, P&L reviews & variance analysis.
* Being the primary point of contact for all finance-related queries coming from your teams and working as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.
* Writing commentary to include in business performance reports and hosting regular meetings with Partners to conduct Performance Reviews.
* Analytical support for the Finance Managers and Business Stakeholders.
* Budgeting, planning and forecasting.
* Preparing and delivering daily financial updates to stakeholders to wider finance team on key performance indicators
* Work in tandem with the rest of the Commercial team to ensure quality control and best practice is developed including streamlining processes and analysis
* Ensuring timely query management
* Work closely in collaboration with Connect Group
* Adept at managing expectations across all key stakeholders.
* Supporting the SFM and Firm across a range of projects as required.
* Working with financial control function to ensure alignment of
Skills and experience:
* The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant, with financial control experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders at all levels.
* Familiarity with building and delivering Powerpoint presentations.
* Experience of presenting information to senior stakeholders in a concise and easy to understand manner.
* You should have proven client-facing and organisational skills, with experience in a professional environment.
* You will also have good knowledge and practical experience of analysing and interpreting large volume of financial data and explaining your findings with strong excel skills.
* You will be ambitious, client-focused and keen to deliver a good service to your stakeholders and able to work in a busy work environment, and used to working to strict deadlines.
* Knowledge of cube-based reporting systems would be beneficial. The firm uses XLCubed, and previous use of Power BI would be advantageous although not necessary
* Ability to manage multiple ad-hoc requests for information within tight timescales.
