About the apprenticeship
Duties
To provide the employee with on-the-job training and experience and to support the provision of financial, administrative and technical support to the Finance Section while working towards an AAT qualification.
To undertake a mix of general financial duties and specialist project work which meets the resource needs of the department.

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking to appoint an Accounting Apprentice to work within its Finance Division to undertake AAT accounting qualifications Level 2 and Level 3.
Accounting is a highly skilled profession, with accounting staff working at many different levels. The role will provide a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues, gaining job specific knowledge and skills that will complement professional development and play an important part in supporting the delivery of high quality accountancy support services. Tasks will include supporting various services and provision of financial information to budget holders, supporting on the financial management of grants and maintaining records and statistical information.
The Accountancy Service is looking for a motivated and well-organised individual who has good communication skills, excellent IT skills, attention to detail, and is a real team player. The Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to earn a wage whilst learning and working towards nationally recognised professional qualifications in your chosen career path.

•Minimum of 5 GCSEs, A* to C grade including English and Mathematics or equivalent.
•2 A Levels or equivalent.
•Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
