Newcastle Hospital – Permanent, full‑time role (37.5 hours per week, includes weekend work). Salary up to £41,250 depending on experience.
Job Overview
As a Theatre Practitioner (Operating Department Practitioner) you will work within a multidisciplinary team in a high‑volume operating theatre environment. You are expected to be registered with a relevant governing body (NMC or HCPC) and to have post‑registration experience in scrub roles. Your focus will be on delivering high‑quality peri‑operative care and supporting junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in a multidisciplinary team covering a varied patient caseload
* Use state‑of‑the‑art technology, equipment and facilities
* Supervise, support and develop junior members of the team
* Provide high‑quality peri‑operative care in a multidisciplinary team setting
* Create high‑quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based
* Take advantage of opportunities for continuous growth, including Surgical First Assist training
Qualifications & Registration
* Registered with the appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC)
* Post‑registration experience in a scrub role within a theatre environment
* Strong communication skills and a team‑player attitude
