Overview
We require a Consultant in the Department of Urology within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The post-holder will join a dedicated and forward‑looking team, helping to deliver urology services across our two base hospitals in East Sussex. Most services are based at the Eastbourne District General Hospital with satellite out‑patient and endoscopy clinics at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings provided by our colleagues within Urology. We provide a comprehensive urology service including regional cancer services, complex endourology with onsite lithotripsy, female urogynaecology and reconstructive surgery, and dedicated state‑of‑the‑art diagnostics in our new Urology Investigation Suite.
Responsibilities
Deliver Pelvic Uro‑Oncology cancer services to patients within East Sussex. Use robotic techniques for bladder and prostate cancer, and expand on robotic neo‑bladder procedures. Support general urology services and patient delivery. Work with a dedicated cancer team and support services to achieve 62‑day cancer pathways. Join four other dedicated Robotic Consultants based at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Qualifications and Experience
Clinician with robotic experience in both bladder and prostate cancer. Passion for bladder cancer with intention to expand on robotic neo‑bladders. Reconstructive experience is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary cancer team and deliver high‑quality patient care.
