We are seeking resilient and motivated Behaviour Support Assistants to join a specialist secondary and further education provision in Cardiff, supporting learners with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD) and complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity for Behaviour Support Assistants with experience of challenging behaviour who are passionate about helping young people re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role:
Supporting students aged 11-19 in a specialist setting
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom
Building positive relationships to promote trust, engagement, and resilience
Assisting with academic work as well as social and emotional development
Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agenciesThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with learners with challenging behaviour / BESD / SEMH
PREVENT training (essential)
Training or practical experience in de-escalation techniques
Confidence supporting students who may display disruptive, disengaged, or physically aggressive behaviour
A calm, professional, and resilient approach with excellent communication skills
Teamwork skills and the ability to remain consistent under pressureWe Offer:
