We're recruiting an Employment Solicitor or Barrister
Contract length: Permanent or part-time
Hours: Full-time 37.5h/week
Location: London hybrid (with the possibility of remote work for an exceptional candidate)
The Work Rights Centre is seeking a motivated solicitor or barrister to join our employment rights programme by providing legal advice, casework, and supporting organizational development.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of justice, valuing impact, teamwork, and autonomy within a diverse and agile team. We offer flexible and remote work options, along with 28 days of annual leave plus a winter holiday break.
The role includes:
* Providing excellent employment legal advice
* Supporting the Head of Employment in supervising senior legal advisers
* Creating accessible legal information for the public
* Delivering training to advisers
* Collaborating with the policy team
This position offers the chance to support vulnerable workers' claims and contribute to systemic change.
About you:
We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister who shares our mission to end in-work poverty by helping vulnerable workers find justice, and who has:
* At least two years of practicing experience in the UK, with some employment law experience
* Experience working in a legal team
* Excellent analytical and legal research skills
* Strong client management skills, including courtesy and professionalism
* Empathy and understanding of migrants and vulnerable workers
