Main Responsibilities
We believe that the best approach to deterring criminal activity is to understand the vulnerabilities and risks of each location, and tailor our approach to effectively reduce risk. As a Retail Security Officer, you will be required to provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities.
You will be expected to carry out all guarding responsibilities while in store, such as:
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities, proactively minimizing risks
* Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress
* Completing colleague and contractor searches in line with company policy
* Digitally reporting incidents and using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Providing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities
Location: Colwyn Bay
Hours: 38 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat 14:00-22:00; Tuesday 16:00-22:00
Hourly Rate: £12.50
Minimum Experience: 1 year guarding, police, or military experience
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you need to be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents. You should be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflicts professionally.
Required Experience and Qualifications
You must hold a valid SIA license to apply. Previous experience in retail security is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
