About the Role
NHS Western Isles is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist based in Stornoway Health Centre. The post-holder will be one of three Primary Care pharmacists, supported by the Lead Primary Care Pharmacist. The role involves travelling across the isles, so a full, current driving license is essential.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated pharmacist to work as part of the general practice team, focusing on improving patient outcomes through managing long-term conditions, providing care and advice for patients on multiple drug therapies, and delivering pharmacotherapy as part of the new GP contract in Scotland. You will work within your clinical competencies in a multidisciplinary team to provide expertise in medicines management, conduct face-to-face structured medication reviews, manage long-term conditions, handle repeat prescription authorizations, and address public health and social care needs.
Benefits and Community
Enjoy working in a friendly, motivated team and experience life in a beautiful rural island community. Engage in outdoor activities such as kayaking, climbing, hill walking, and diving, or explore traditional crafts and music. The islands are accessible from Glasgow, Inverness, and Edinburgh by plane, with regular ferry services to Ullapool.
