We’re recruiting for the first Vocational Trainers at HMP Millsike, a brand-new prison estate opening in Spring 2025. If you’re passionate about education and making a difference, this is your chance to help shape our new curriculum and deliver high-quality training from the start.
About the Role
As a Multi-Skills Construction Vocational Trainer, you’ll deliver practical training in plastering, painting and decorating, tiling, and dry lining up to City & Guilds Level 2. You will prepare learners for assessments and real-world applications, working with up to 18 learners to develop essential skills, promote employability, and support personal growth. You will guide learners towards meaningful employment upon release.
What You’ll Do

* Adapt and Support Diverse Learners: Use adaptive techniques to meet varied learning needs, ensuring confidence in progress.
* Promote Safety and Tool Management: Conduct tool checks and uphold health and safety standards in a secure environment.
* Incorporate Employability and Digital Skills: Embed these skills within practical sessions to enhance workforce readiness.
* Encourage Personal Growth Through Restorative Practices: Foster a supportive environment, motivating learners to engage, reflect, and take responsibility.

* Qualified in construction trades to at least Level 2, with Level 2 in Maths and English.
* Experience in vocational training or practical instruction.
* Passion for motivating and supporting learners.
Desirable:

If you’re excited to lead, inspire change, and support individuals towards success, we want to hear from you. Join us at HMP Millsike and help shape a brighter future for our learners and communities.
Working Hours:
* This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours/week.
