Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a Work Package Engineer who will be responsible for developing Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and Installation Work Packages (IWPs) to support the Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) process in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCm) project delivery. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure work packages are comprehensive, logically sequenced, and aligned with project schedules.
Location
This role is based full time on site in Teesside.
Responsibilities
1. Work Package Development
o Create CWPs inline with the Construction Sequence
o Develop CWPs during detailed engineering with inputs from engineering, including drawings, specifications, material lists, and SHE requirements.
o During construction, track CWPs release and support subcontractors by preparing IWPs with step-by-step instructions, resources, material requests, and quality checklists. Act as a link between engineering and construction, integrating technical details.
o Ensure IWPs are construction-ready for smooth execution per schedule.
2. Collaboration and Coordination
o Work with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather information for CWPs.
o Coordinate with commissioning teams for system completion and project handover.
o Participate in meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
o Support subcontractor supervision and development of IWPs.
3. Schedule and Resource Management
o Develop and track CWP release plans aligned with project schedules.
o Ensure timely delivery of IWPs to the field.
o Maintain documentation for CWPs and IWPs.
o Assist in resolving work issues for smooth transition into system completion.
Qualifications
* Engineering and/or Construction vocational qualifications.
* Minimum of 7 years in EPC or EPCm project delivery, with experience in work package development preferred.
* Relevant competency card such as CSCS / CCNSG or equivalent.
Mindset and Skills
* Ability to adapt to change and improve project execution methods.
* Enthusiasm to enhance field productivity and drive change.
* Self-motivated with a 'get it done' attitude.
* Experience supervising construction crews and coordinating site activities.
* Proficiency in creating site work packages and basic IT skills.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of EPC/EPCm project lifecycles and software tools like Primavera P6, MS Project.
* Experience with AWP delivery models and tools such as AVEVA ERM.
* Ability to create 4D project visualizations.
