Public services provider delivered through a private company needs a strategic, proactive Social Media Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract to lead the development and delivery of our social media strategy.
This is a hands‑on role for a self‑starter who can influence senior leaders, guide decision making, and elevate their digital presence with a big focus on recruitment and driving leads.
You will have one Communications Officer reporting into you and will work closely with the wider marketing team to deliver high‑impact, insight‑driven social campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a clear, insight‑driven social media strategy aligned to organisational and brand objectives.
* Lead on the execution of the social media plan, ensuring consistent, high‑quality content across all channels.
* Manage and coach a Communications Officer, ensuring effective day‑to‑day delivery.
* Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
* Build strong relationships across the organisation and collaborate with marketing, comms, and senior stakeholders.
* Produce analytics dashboards, track key metrics, and clearly report on return on investment (ROI).
* Identify opportunities to improve reach, engagement, and channel performance.
* Ensure brand voice and values are consistently reflected across all platforms.
About You
You’re a confident communicator who can influence at all levels and bring clarity, structure, and momentum to social media activity. You are comfortable owning the strategy and rolling up your sleeves to make it happen.
You will bring:
* Significant experience managing organisational social media channels.
* A track record of building and executing effective social strategies.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and demonstrate ROI.
* Experience coaching or line‑managing reports.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to advise and influence leaders.
* Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work seamlessly with wider marketing teams.
* Must be available at one months notice or less.
