Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join a manufacturing environment and develop into a production and process engineering role. This position is designed to give hands‑on exposure to production operations, maintenance processes, and continuous improvement, supporting the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment while developing the skills required to move into production leadership or process engineering roles. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams to improve plant performance, optimise processes, and support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Support process improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
* Work closely with production and maintenance teams to identify equipment issues and implement improvements.
* Assist with root cause analysis of plant failures and help develop preventative solutions.
* Support preventative maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability.
* Assist with the implementation and management of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
* Analyse maintenance and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
* Support continuous improvement and reliability projects across the production plant.
* Assist with spare parts management and maintenance planning.
* Work alongside supervisors to develop leadership and operational management skills.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of site procedures and operational standards.
* Support contractor coordination and project work when required.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Interest in developing a career within manufacturing, production, or process engineering.
* Basic understanding of industrial process equipment such as pumps, valves, vessels, or heat exchangers.
* Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and maintenance teams.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
* Placement or internship experience within manufacturing, food, chemical, or processing industries.
* Exposure to continuous improvement, maintenance systems, or reliability engineering.
* Interest in data analysis and operational performance improvement.
Salary, Hours & Benefits
* Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
* Location: East Yorkshire
* Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time
* Contract: Permanent
