Head of School – Aurora Beeches School Location : Cranborne, Dorset Salary : £60,943 - £67,247 (L9-L13) Hours : 40 hours per week, Term time only At Aurora Beeches, we believe in giving young people the tools and opportunities to create the lives they want for themselves. The main purpose of the role: We are looking for an inspirational and engaging Head of School who shares our commitment and vision in providing an ambitious and therapeutic, person-centred learning environment for our students with SEMH needs. Working collaboratively with the Principal, Vice Principal and Governing Board, you will have knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills to develop our school in accordance with its shared values and our school development plans. We are an organisation who will also support you as an individual to fulfil your potential. We therefore seek a dedicated and passionate individual to lead in the operational running of the school and to further develop the quality of education provided at The Beeches Key duties: The Head of School will support the delivery of a balanced curriculum. They will model good practice, develop relationships, support training and development and ensure first quality teaching and secure the smooth running of the school. Undertake safeguarding duties which will entail reporting and following up incidents in a timely manner and where appropriate liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. Attend weekly High Priority Group meetings and raise any concerns to SLT. be responsible for maintaining and regularly updating their knowledge with regards to safeguarding and attending all necessary training to fulfil the role With the Principal and Vice Principal, share responsibility for the induction and deployment of new staff, voluntary help, trainee teachers working in classrooms and throughout the school ensuring all safeguarding requirements are met and that their work in school supports the learning and well-being of all children. Promote achievement and well-being and with the Principal and Vice Principal effectively manage the school resources to achieve the schools stated aims, meet its targets and sustain high achievement. Work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in setting, nurturing, promoting and maintaining a very high standard of behaviour and mutual respect throughout the school ensuring that all staff play an active role in the pursuit of these standards Please see the link below for our full job description: Head of School FINAL LRi.docx Successful candidate qualities: A qualified Teacher with experience across the 14 – 16 age range An experienced curriculum and team leader A leader of teaching and learning with previous educational management experience To be able to teach Entry level 2 & 3, and GCE in specific subject What’s on offer?
