JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor who has experience in promoting and developing employability or related programmes, case management, action planning, and target setting skills, along with knowledge of the local labour market and recruitment practices.
As the Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor, you will support the organisation’s Routes to Work project, helping people to gain employment, start education or training, or gain volunteering or work experience through one-on-one and group activities.
Based in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, or Chesham, the role involves assisting the CEO in implementing, developing, and delivering the service.

DUTIES
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Manage a caseload of clients and facilitate groups
* Develop flexible, person-centred plans with participants within set targets
* Provide advice and information to participants
* Promote autonomy, rights, and responsibilities
* Communicate effectively with internal and external partners
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to service monitoring
* Complete relevant paperwork promptly
* Assist in developing and implementing record-keeping procedures and policies
* Attend relevant meetings, including multi-agency ones
* Develop links with other service providers
* Represent the service professionally
* Provide employability advice and develop supporting materials
* Apply models like motivational interviewing to support job seekers
* Develop and review action plans and interventions
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to meet project objectives and targets
* Experience in promoting employability programmes
* Experience in case management, action planning, and target setting
* Ability to build effective relationships
* Understanding of confidentiality for vulnerable individuals
* Knowledge of barriers faced by job seekers
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with supporting literacy and numeracy skills
* Understanding of safeguarding legislation
* Knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments, and boundaries
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Adaptability to changing environments
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems is advantageous
* Ability to deliver services in a person-centred, non-judgmental manner
* Flexibility and creativity in support development
* Willingness to engage in supervision
* Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing learning
* Adherence to equal opportunities and confidentiality policies
* Ability to travel as required
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
