You will work for an established, market-leadingpany who are 'Investor in People' accredited. This award-winningpany is looking for an experienced accountant to join their professional accounting team.
Your new role
Aspany Accountant, you will be a key part of the finance team delivering the month-end report pack and supporting reconciliations. The position will involve working with all departments within thepany, promoting financial and driving continuous improvements and efficiencies, reporting to the Financial Controller.
You will be involved in the preparation of reports to assist withmercial decisions and preparation of information for budget setting and forecasting, as well as liaising with bankers and auditors when required and providing assistance with testing internal controls and instigating improvements where necessary.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing meaningful, accurate monthly management accounts
Control account reconciliations including bank, debtors, creditors, pension etc.
Preparation and submission of UK and ROI VAT returns
Valuation of stock and work in progress/accrued ie
Balance sheet reconciliations
Variance analysis and reporting
Internal controls, process documentation/flow charts
Annual budgeting, planning and forecasting
Manage capital expenditure
Cashflow projections
Reviewing accounting processes/practices and making improvements where applicable
What you'll need to succeed
Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar accounting role
Strong IT skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Extensive knowledge of business systems, process and reporting
Strong project management and excellentmunication skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire excellent performance from colleagues
A proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt to changing situations
Desirable
Good working knowledge of Sage Accounts & Payroll
