Scheduling Administrator
Supporting the Theatre Scheduling Lead for efficient delivery of the Theatre schedule, the post holder is required to effectively coordinate use of internal workforce and resources and support directorates in fully utilising theatre sessions.
As a pivotal member of the team, the post holder will develop and implement robust information management systems to support monitoring, data capture, and performance review.
Main duties of the job
The NCIC Theatre provides a 24/7 service to adults and children requiring both elective and emergency operative procedures. The Surgical and Secretarial teams list patients within their directorates who require local or general anaesthesia for a wide variety of elective surgical procedures across specialties such as General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Obstetric, Maternity, Ophthalmology, ENT, and Maxillofacial surgery.
The Theatre Administration team works collaboratively with clinical colleagues to support the theatre and anaesthesia provisions, delivering high‑quality patient care and a high level of operational performance.

Qualifications
* GCSE English Language (minimum grade C) or equivalent
* NVQ 3 in Business Administration or equivalent
* Typewriting/word processing RSA 2 or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
* Medical Secretarial duties
* Medical Audio typing / word processing
* Operating word processing and computer packages
* Medical terminology
* Patient Information Systems or equivalent. Knowledge of the General Data Protection Act (2018), Freedom of Information Act, access to health records and defensible documentation, health and safety legislation, and their application in the workplace.
* Understanding of clinical rosters
* Equality issues.
* NCIC local electronic patient record/information systems
Skills and Aptitudes
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to analyse complex facts or situations
* Able to use initiative appropriately within a team environment
* Able to work without supervision
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
