As a Service Charge and Systems Support, a typical day might include:
1. Supporting with service charges for the organisation, ensuring we maximise value for money, deliver a great service to our customers, and maintain strong compliance and controls at every step
2. Being an expert within the team and within the organisation around service charges and finance business systems, updates and improvement activity to deliver a great support service to the organisation
3. Supporting compliance, legislation and best practice around service charges and delivering great value to our customers through external events and networking
4. Maximising recovery of our service costs from customers and contributing to reporting of this activity to senior Finance members and internal stakeholders
5. Working with customers to get feedback on our service chargeable provision – handling customer complaints and ensuring we act on the feedback to improve
6. Supporting with regular reviews of existing services, ensuring they are value for money, affordable, and proportionate
7. Supporting with the annual service charge reconciliation, budget setting and training across the group and supporting the cross functional team to deliver service charge activity every day, including training and advice
8. Being the first line of response for the finance department systems, primarily the finance system, repairs and housing system (financial aspects), and development appraisal system, ensuring that all are accurate, have the right levels of access and internal controls are up to date and hold all relevant information to provide cost control and reporting to the group
9. Co-ordinating data transfer between core systems to enable appropriate management of Acis Group’s resources
10. Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to investigate and analyse system requirements and develop system specifications for additional modules and solutions
11. Provide regular system training to all users across the organisation to ensure the systems are used effectively
12. Providing transaction processing and financial accounting activity and analysis support to the finance team including preparing and inputting ledger journals as required and monthly management reports
13. Completing monthly reconciliations of balance sheet control accounts and resolution of queries arising
14. Support on the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts and budget setting for subsidiaries of the group
15. Business partnering to all levels within the group. Providing financial support and challenging any large variances and updating forecasts
16. Providing such ad hoc information as may be required from time to time
Your role is all about providing support for service charges, maximising recovery of all fair and reasonable charges. Ensuring that we are achieving value for money for our customers and the services they receive. Being hands-on in supporting the accounts’ function is a critical part of the role as well as system administration for the department. Whilst the role has its specialisms, cross functional working is a must to ensure the operations run smoothly.
Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:
17. A minimum of one years’ experience working within a finance environment
18. Finance system administration experience – or ability to learn
19. Ability to work on your own initiative and support the wider team when required
20. Wider financial knowledge across the full spectrum of what the finance team does and impacts – working within or alongside a finance team experience is a must
21. A good user of Excel is a must. We use Excel every day, so this is a key part of the role.
22. Strong communication and collaboration skills are key – this role will only succeed if you support others

28. Experience of administering parts or all of a system would be advantageous in this exciting role
29. Experience of customer engagement, both internal and external would be a bonus – but we can teach you if not!
30. You don’t need to be an accounting technician (AAT) or working towards one of these qualifications, but it’s a bonus if you are!

32. Your base location shall be Acis House in Gainsborough. We might ask you to visit other sites or locations as part of your role.
33. You’ll work 37 hours each week. We offer flexible working within the home or office environment, talk to your line manager for more details.
34. This role requires a basic DBS check.
35. We like to get face to face with customers and suppliers, so a full driving licence is preferable.
