Job Purpose/Summary:
To manage the provision of financial assessments and services to the business units to enable the company to plan and monitor financial performance, ensuring the provision of accurate and timely information and the application of robust and effective internal controls and compliance.
There will be staff supervisory responsibilities and to support any requirements from the Shared Service Centre in order to deliver business needs.
To support the business leads in delivering their operational objectives.
Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
1. Oversee, underwrite and ensure the timely preparation of all financial information – both internal and external
2. To ensure the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly management accounts pack
3. Providing strategic analysis and support to the Directors with regular financial reviews
4. Interactively partner with site management team to ensure decision making processes are financially robust and support improved performance
5. Ownership of site forecast and month end
6. Lead / participate in profit improvement projects and Gross Margin by Customer reporting
7. CAPEX Preparation & Pay back
8. Development of the Finance function to ensure stability
9. Ensure all processes and controls are adhered to, and then develop good SOX controls
10. To prepare the statutory accounts in accordance with UK & US GAAP and be the point of contact for the external audit process
11. To provide various forecasts to Group including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow & Capex
12. Ensure that internal controls are complete, robust and effective in order to safeguard company assets
13. To liaise with corporate monthly payroll team
14. To ensure the reliability of the data being entered into the job costing system, and comparing actuals back to quotations and driving a lessons learnt culture
15. To carry out annual staff reviews in accordance with company policy
16. To lead, manage and develop the Finance team in the pursuit of excellence
17. Undertake adhoc project work
18. Lead & participate in improvement projects as required to enhance accuracy and speed of reporting, reviewing profitability and supporting activities to increase margin and reduce cost
Knowledge, skills experience
19. Relevant experience (3-5 years +) in a similar senior role
20. Sufficient qualifications to discharge the functions of the role ideally Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA/ ACA equivalent)
21. Experience in a manufacturing/commercial environment is desirable.
22. Thorough understanding of internal controls and their implementation.
23. Ability to motivate and develop a small team.
24. Ability to drive forward a point of view with senior management
25. Experience of consolidation processes and systems.
26. Demonstrable experience of excellent analytical, numeracy, organizational and communication skills.
27. Demonstrable experience of working to high quality standards with attention to detail
28. Demonstrable evidence of information handling ability and problem solving skills
29. Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
30. Proficient in MS Packages including highly competent in Microsoft Excel
31. Flexible individual willing to take on tasks outside the list above and taking ownership of all assigned tasks
