Coatbridge

Monday to Friday – 8am – 4.30pm

Mears North Lanarkshire are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Support Apprentice to join our Compliance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in administrative processes, supporting the delivery of critical services within a fast-paced environment.

Based in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, offering the nationally agreed apprentice pay rates, you will be paid for your normal working hours plus your attendance at college)

About the role:

An enthusiastic apprentice who will work under the direction, guidance and supervision of an experienced mentor to support the delivery of excellent refurbishment, repairs and maintenance service, whilst working to achieve a number of skills and qualifications.

The employee will be working based out of our Coatbridge office. The primary responsibility will be taking customers calls. This is done individually but there is a team around for support and advice throughout the working day.

Accountabilities:

1. Support the administration processes for gas and electrical compliance work, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.

2. Help maintain databases and ensure that all documentation is properly filed and retrievable.

3. Communicate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.

4. Assist with preparing reports, audits, and compliance checks.

5. Track progress of service jobs and update job status accordingly.

6. Provide general office support including managing phone calls, emails, and office supplies.

Key Criteria:

7. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

8. Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

9. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

10. A positive and proactive attitude towards learning and development.

11. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

12. Willingness to work within a team environment and support colleagues.

13. Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships

14. Understanding of the functions of Microsoft Office 365 – word, excel, outlook
