A vibrant and ambitious secondary school in Lincoln is seeking a passionate and talented Music Teacher to join their successful Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP and is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to inspire the next generation of musicians.


About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 depending on experience. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ performance, composition, listening, and theoretical skills. The role includes preparing students for GCSE and potentially A-Level examinations, supporting school productions, concerts, and extracurricular music activities.

You will be expected to contribute to curriculum development, assess and monitor student progress, and create a stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence. The department values practical music-making, ensemble performance, and the integration of music technology within lessons.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3/4 (KS5 optional)
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• Lead or support extracurricular ensembles and performances
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and student engagement


Experience and Qualifications

• Degree in Music or related discipline
• QTS or PGCE
• Experience teaching Music in a secondary setting (ECTs welcome)
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Passion for performance and student enrichment


Salary

MPS/UPS (dependent on experience).
