Purpose of Post:
This post will provide a bespoke and holistic advice and support service for clients accessing Worcester Foodbank, aiming to prevent ongoing reliance on the foodbank.
The mission of Worcester Foodbank is to end hunger and food poverty in our city.
The post will help alleviate financial difficulties for clients who:
* Are in receipt of emergency food
* Are seeking access to emergency food
* Are identified as facing destitution
The service will target vulnerable clients needing supported advice and casework. Referrals will be prioritized from within the CA clients seeking foodbank vouchers and from the Worcester Foodbank team.
The role involves providing support and advice at a generalist casework level, specifically focusing on income maximization, benefits, debt, housing advice, and related matters, with ongoing support.
Additionally, the role includes offering advice, information, and support to improve clients' money management skills and financial capability.
Location: Office base at CA Worcester (and Worcester Foodbank when premises allow). Occasional home visits and outreach may be required.
