Lunchtime Support and Personal Care Assistant in our Specialist Resource Base for pupils with Autism/Communication Needs. Start date: As soon as possible. Salary: £25,948.96 full‑time equivalent, £6,133.20 pro rata. Contract: Permanent, term‑time only plus 5 inset days. Working pattern: 10 hours weekly, 11:30‑1:30 pm Monday‑Friday. Sefton Park Schools are federated Infant and Junior Schools. Our schools are a dynamic, supportive, happy place to work. We have recently opened a new specialist resource base and are excited to welcome a new team and new pupils to our community. The role is to provide support for lunchtime, play activities and personal care for pupils in the new specialist resource base. The Resource Base focuses on supporting pupils with ASC and speech, language needs.
Responsibilities
* Help pupils set the table and clear away in our Lifeskills Room
* Supervise and support pupils while they are eating lunch
* Support pupils with personal care and independence skills such as eating, drinking and toileting
* Support and supervise pupils with play (indoor and outdoor)
* Support transition from lunchtime back to class
* Play a crucial role in facilitating and supervising the experience, ensuring a safe, clean and enjoyable environment
Qualifications & Experience
* Passion for working with children and supporting their development
* Desire to develop skills and knowledge working with pupils with additional needs
* Enthusiastic, reliable and able to work well as part of a team
* Able to develop positive relationships with staff and children
* Experience working with children within a nursery, primary school or specialist setting desirable but not essential
