The role is for a Tech Lead who will own and drive the technical roadmap for our Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform, enabling other teams to make smart choices about user authentication and authorization with a strong focus on security and a great developer experience.
The Role
As the tech lead in the team you will help us create a unified approach to IAM and drive adoption of this platform across the company. The solutions you develop will support other teams in building secure, easy-to-use authentication and authorization for their applications.
You will work as part of the wider Developer Experience team, providing platforms for product teams by abstracting away complexities and enabling them to focus on solving hard problems and delivering a great customer experience.
The Overall Responsibilities Include
* Being passionate about tech and a role model to other engineers
* Working with RFCs and contributing to architectural forums; driving your domain’s architectural discussions and decisions; ensuring the system architecture aligns with overarching principles and best practices
* Contributing to the domain technical roadmap and helping your team execute on it
* Collaborating with Product to ensure active engagement in Product Discovery
* Understanding the "big picture" of the technical landscape beyond your team
* Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies, sharing knowledge, and challenging the engineering practices
* Encouraging experimentation and knowledge sharing while avoiding needless complexity and proliferation of technologies
* Ensuring the team’s components are up to date with current architecture and security standards
* Establishing and modeling a healthy code-review culture with constructive feedback
* Onboarding new team members on the technical vision and ways of working
* Focusing on security of the team’s applications and practicing Security/Shift Left
About You
* You are comfortable sharing ideas and speaking up

Background
* 5+ years of programming experience
* Deep knowledge and experience with IAM best practices
* Experience designing and implementing authentication and authorization architecture for internal and external use
* Experience with Java and Spring Boot
* Experience with Microservices
* Experience with Single Sign-On implementations
* Experience with OpenID Connect/SAML
* Experience with GoLang and OpenFGA preferred
* Knowledge of Cloud Identity Providers
* Experience with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) is required
