What the school offers its staff

GMAT is a cross-phase Multi Academy Trust based in Cheshunt, currently comprising two secondary and two primary schools. Across the Trust, GMAT has just under 3,000 students and about 400 staff. The MAT operates nursery provision on the Goffs-Churchgate site with subsidies for staff via Ashbourne Nurseries.

All of the schools are situated within close proximity in Cheshunt and share CPD and other activities. CPD and events are rotated through all schools in the Trust, fostering collaboration across the Trust.

The MAT provides centralised support across HR, Finance, Income Generation, Data/Business Analysis, ICT and Estates. The motto is “no set destiny for any child.”

Staff Development & Leadership

The Trust offers strong staff development for teaching and support staff, including leadership development pathways, mentoring and one-to-one support, and a calendar of cross-phase networking events. There is an induction scheme with mentors and opportunities for external courses if needed.

The Leadership Academy provides pathways for aspiring middle and senior leaders, with personalised development and school projects. A full suite of leadership training includes sessions on vision, motivation, change, coaching, data use, and other topics relevant to leadership roles.

Associate SLT opportunities have previously been used to develop future leaders within the Trust.
