Interview will be held on 8th Dec 2025 Full TimeBand 7 AFC - Medical Staffing Manager based at Prospect Park Hospital - Reading.
We are now seeking an experienced Medical Staffing practitioner to join our team to lead and manage the medical staffing and education team and supporting all aspects of medical staffing including HR and education within the Trust.
We are looking for someone who has a Medical Staffing background, particularly specialist knowledge and experience of medical workforce terms and conditions, national and local strategies/initiatives, contract negotiations and policies and procedures to expertly manage the medical workforce and education service to the Trust. This includes an underpinning knowledge on key areas such as terms and conditions, job planning, training, rotas, on-call management, revalidation, medical education, study leave,
It is essential that you are able to demonstrate your experience of implementing and advising doctors and managers on the various aspects described above.

You will report to the Associate Director of Medical Development and work in partnership with the Trust senior management and leadership supporting the delivery of medical workforce strategy.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional medical staffing advice to all levels of managers across the full range of employee relations issues
* Oversight and supervision of the medical staffing and education team (3 staff)
* Build and maintain credible relationships with our resident doctors, consultants and specialist doctors and Service Managers across the Trust ensuring complex or sensitive information is communicated in a confident way
* Act as a point of contact for managers and staff seeking advice on various policies, analysing queries to offer solutions
* Advise managers on all aspects of the medical recruitment processes, rotations, and job planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education / Qualifications / Training
* Degree level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
* Specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate short courses, training or equivalent experience, in a relevant field.
* Leadership Qualification or equivalent experience.
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Demonstratable experience of working within medical staffing in a complex healthcare environment.
* Demonstrable understanding of medical and dental terms and conditions.
Previous Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working autonomously to deliver high quality and evidence-based medical staffing advice and expertise.
* Experience in making complex recruitment processes and ideally the appointment process for Consultant Medical Staffing.
* Experience in rota development, management and pay processes.
* Experience providing inspiring and supportive leadership to junior colleagues through line management or day-to-day supervision.
* Ability to lead training programmes or present to a variety of different stakeholders on matters related to medical staffing.
* Uphold the Trust's values of being caring, committed and working as team through demonstrable examples and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Advanced use of digital tools and applications including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
* Ability to generate and analyse complex data and make informed decisions, recommendations or form persuasive arguments on the basis of this.
