This role sits within the UK division of a large European food group with multiple manufacturing sites across the UK and mainland Europe. The group is a specialist producer of high-quality private label and branded foods supplied to leading retailers and foodservice operators across international markets.
The UK arm plays a central role in the group’s growth strategy, producing a broad range of chilled and frozen products spanning deli, party food, snacking, meal accompaniments and food-to-go. The business is recognised for its collaborative approach with retail partners, strong NPD capability and ability to deliver both premium and everyday private label solutions.
With continued investment in manufacturing, innovation and category insight, the business supplies many of the UK’s most respected grocery retailers alongside export and foodservice customers. About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior National Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of major UK grocery customers within the private label and branded retail channel.
The account base is expected to include leading premium and mainstream retailers such as M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, with final allocation dependent on experience.
You will lead strategic relationships, developing long-term joint business plans focused on category growth, innovation and commercial performance. The role offers strong visibility internally and the opportunity to influence both customer strategy and wider business direction.
Working closely with NPD, category, technical and supply chain teams, you’ll play a key role in bringing new products to market and strengthening the business’s position as a trusted retail partner.
Key Responsibilities
* Full P&L responsibility for a portfolio of UK retail accounts
* Building and delivering joint business plans
* Leading commercial negotiations, pricing and range reviews
* Driving NPD and category opportunities across chilled and frozen
* Forecasting, budgeting and performance management
* Cross-functional collaboration with technical, supply chain and innovation teams
* Acting as the voice of the customer internally
* Identifying opportunities for growth across own-label and branded ranges
Your Background
* National Account Manager or Senior NAM experience within UK grocery
* Experience working within private label food manufacturing
* Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
* Commercially astute with solid P&L management experience
* Experience delivering NPD launches with major retailers
* Comfortable working autonomously in a home-based role
* Chilled, frozen, deli or food-to-go category exposure advantageous

Location
