Technical Project Assistant to join the Water Waste team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Our Waste Water function is are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Were looking for someone who can make sure our Wastewater R&M Contract runs well checking that the work done is up to scratch and the costs are backed up properly. Youll play a key role in keeping health and safety front and centre, helping us aim for top tier performance. Youll also work closely with stakeholders and customers to hit our regulatory targets. Where you fit in:

As our Technical Project Assistant, you will:
Driving excellent standards in health, safety, risk management, and control of work to meet Yorkshire Waters Safety Policy.
Reporting accidents, hazards, near misses, and dangerous occurrences within required timescales.
Working as part of the Vendor Management Team to support wider team objectives through strong individual performance.
Collaborating with the Commercial Investment & Vendor Manager and Operational Project Managers to identify key jobs for auditing.
Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Carrying out spot audits on site, including capturing photos/videos to support quality assurance.
Gathering evidence to support claims against third parties who damage Yorkshire Water assets.
Working with the Legal Department to pursue third-party claims.
Identifying and escalating health and safety issues during audits, with authority to stop work if necessary.
Auditing site resources, plant, and equipment to support contractor payment claims.
Providing technical support and training based on audit findings.
Escalating concerns about contractor activity to the Commercial Investment & Vendor Manager.
Supporting the review and approval of contractor applications for payment.

What skills & qualifications you will need:
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to plan and prioritise work to deliver results effectively.
A collaborative approach, working well with others to achieve shared goals.
Confident influencing and negotiation skills.
Solid technical understanding of the sewer network and methods like sewer replacement or lining.
Experience in a commercially focused and/or regulated environment (desirable).
Operational experience working on the sewer network (desirable).
Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
