We are looking for 5+ PQE Family Law Solicitor to join our busy and friendly team at the head office in Thame, Oxfordshire. The role works together with two senior solicitors, a paralegal and a legal secretary in the team to ensure the smooth and effective running in the department.
Key Responsibilities
* Support senior fee earners in the department with incoming instructions and will need to be confident in handling own caseload
* Advising clients and handle own caseload including direct contact with clients on Family matters such as divorce and dissolution, financial remedy cases, child matters, cohabitation agreements, etc.
* Correspond with clients appropriately and manage clients’ expectations
* Handle billing and invoicing of clients and assist in credit control
* Attend court hearings when necessary
* Drafting documents and correspondence
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum of 5 years PQE experience
* Must have a proven track record acting for clients in divorce, financial remedy and private law children cases
* Must have past experience in handling a caseload of private family matters including:-
o Divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships
o Financial remedy
o Financial provision for children and separation agreements
o Cohabitation agreements
o Nuptial Agreements
o TOLATA
o Contested Children Act proceedings
* Able to work under pressure maintaining attention to detail and meet tight deadlines
* Able to work as part of a team but also independently
* Attention to detail is essential
* Fully competent with MS Word and experience in case management system is a plus
* Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
* Must use own initiative regularly and be proactive
