Job overview

The Procurement department at Airedale General Hospital is part of AGH Solutions LTD, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

The Procurement team pride themselves on providing excellent customer service to their customers and we aspire to be the best we can be, assisting clinical areas in providing the best clinical care to patients and users within the hospital and community.

If you want to learn how to control and manage stock levels in a busy hospital that provides essential medical care for a population of 200,000 people, this role could be perfect for you!

We are looking for an individual who wants to further develop their customer service skills, who can prioritise essential tasks and ensure the availability of stock in all areas.

You will have good communication skills, be computer literate on basic software systems such as Microsoft Office.

Your main responsibilities will be ordering of goods for the Trust, in particular for clinical areas, which would involve visiting the ward areas and counting stock.

AGH Solutions is committed to allowing its employees to work dynamically with a combination of working on site and remotely, where possible.

37.5 hours per week

Mon-Thurs 9:00am – 5:00pm, Fri 8:30am – 4:30pm (With ½ hour lunch)


Main duties of the job

Ensure that stock levels are maintained for consumables on clinical areas specifically by:

undertaking materials management top-up in line with levels set and within agreed timescales.

communicating with clinical teams as required to resolve any queries regarding replenishing and reordering of required stock

undertaking quarterly reviews with clinical teams, agreeing and maintaining adequate stock levels.

To ensure that orders for goods and services are placed and delivered in a timely manner in accordance with procedures.

Assist in ensuring that all Central Alerting System (CAS), Medicines Healthcare Regulations Authority (MHRA) or Supplier alerts are actioned and report any adverse incidents to the MHRA in line with procedures.

Assist the Assistant Logistics Manager to develop, implement and improve working methodologies and procedures in order to maintain service delivery.

Assist the Assistant Logistics Manager in creating a culture which will ensure the delivery of a professional Stock Control service which will be fit for purpose.

Support work towards identification of savings opportunities monitoring and reporting progress as required.

Person specification


Qualifications

* A good level of general education (i.e. English and Maths GCSE)
* Qualified or working towards Level 2 Procurement or equivalent


Knowledge

* Working knowledge of software computer packages, i.e. Microsoft Office
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety in a working environment
* Good interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication


Experience

* Good analytical skills and mathematical understanding
* Customer relations dealing with diverse customer base both face to face and remotely
* Experience of working within a general office undertaking administration duties
* Experience in a Procurement environment
* Experience of stock control via inventory systems
* Experience in using a purchase to pay system
