About the Role
As a support worker with Verity Healthcare, you will support individuals with a variety of needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and other support requirements. You will empower clients to live independently, with dignity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
✔ Assist with mobility and the use of equipment where required
✔ Administer medication (training provided) and monitor well-being
✔ Support with meal planning, preparation, and feeding where needed
✔ Offer companionship, emotional support, and encouragement
✔ Promote social inclusion and involvement in community activities
✔ Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping
✔ Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and support plans
✔ Participate in training, team meetings, and supervision sessions
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Previous experience in care OR a genuine desire to support vulnerable people
• Warm, caring, and empathetic approach
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Physically fit to undertake personal care duties
Desirable:
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or many years of experience as a care worker
• First Aid certificate
• Knowledge of care regulations and safeguarding
• Experience supporting individuals with dementia, autism, or complex needs
Working Conditions
• Flexible working hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
• Work conducted in clients’ homes, care facilities, and community environments
• Some physical tasks, such as assisting with mobility or moving equipment
Requirements
• Enhanced DBS check
• Professional references
• A valid driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable for some roles)
