Early Years Practitioner - Fixed term until 26/06/2026 Craigroyston Primary School
Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro‑rate for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional (7:30‑15:45 Monday‑Thursday & 8:00‑13:00 Friday)
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Early Learning and Care Team.
Craigroyston Primary School is seeking an experienced Early Years Practitioner who will support our learners to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to demonstrate four key capacities – to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
Responsibilities
* Provide early years education and support to children within a school setting.
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including sessional and full‑time hours.
* Use ICT competently, including databases, spreadsheets and word documents, to support teaching and administrative tasks.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff and external agencies, meeting tight deadlines.
* Deliver a positive, inclusive learning environment that reflects our school values of respect, empathy, resilience and ambition.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of working in a school environment as an Early Years Practitioner.
* Competence with ICT tools commonly used in schools.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Basic first‑aid qualification and ability to administer medication where appropriate; or willingness to undertake required training.
* Knowledge of early years curriculum and best practice in child development.
* Willingness to participate in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme and, where necessary, an overseas criminal record check.

Legal and Safety Requirements

Employment offers will be subject to satisfactory completion of these checks.
Additional Information
Our salary range reflects the initial starting salary and increases annually until reaching the top of the range. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
