About the Role
We are looking for an FPGA engineer to work on the development of complex FPGA designs for high end audio mixing desks; the role will cover specification through to hardware testing, with a focus on high quality, re‑usable coding, as well as effective verification, of various audio interfaces and custom DSP designs.
Responsibilities
* Implement new FPGA designs, using a mixture of existing IP and newly created code, using VHDL primarily for Xilinx devices
* Write code with a view to re‑usability, readability, efficient resource utilisation, and high clock rate
* Use modern simulation and verification techniques to create comprehensive testing/simulation environments using ModelSim
* Create and validate timing constraints
* Produce design documentation, as well as documents describing any software interfaces
* Involvement in circuit design; schematic symbol generation, and interaction with the PCB layout process
* Conduct PCB-level bring‑up and debug of the FPGA
* Research into cutting edge FPGA technology with a view to device selection and potential exploitation of said technologies in new designs
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent from an accredited course in Electronic Engineering or suitable experience in the field
Required Skills
* Minimum 2 years’ experience
* Coded FPGA or ASIC designs in VHDL or Verilog
* Experience in design, simulation / verification, synthesis, static timing analysis, verification and debugging
Candidate should show evidence of skills in cost effective design for a very competitive market. The job will require a good knowledge, understanding and experience of most of the following :
