Our client is a is a very happy and playful boy 6-year-old male with Autism and delayed speech. Our client requires certain routines to be followed and not interrupted, such as the sequence of putting on a seat belt. Our client does not always pick up on social cues and does not have danger or surroundings awareness. Our client may have moments of distress. Distractions help to avoid possible distress but through body language it is easily interpreted how he will react or is feeling. Our client may run when distressed and will need to safely be caught and kept safe. Some personal care is required. Our client enjoys the car, bus and train, colouring, things with stickers, the park and soft play. Our client is active so you will need to be able to keep up. Our client will need collected from school and then taken onto a club on Thursdays. A driver’s licence is preferable. You will need to be confident and at times directive, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work as well as patience. This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
